Family History Month 2016 at Moonee Valley Libraries






August is National Family History Month and to celebrate all things Family History were running a number of events. With most events free, there has never been a better time to discover more about your families past. Events this year include:

Stories from an Italian family cookbook


Laurie and Hilda Inglese talk about traditional Italian cooking from the Abruzzo region and share family recipes handed down across generations. Includes live pasta making demonstration. Free session.

Pinterest for family history

Learn to create your own secret board and give access to family and friends. Share old photos with your family wherever they may be. Participants must have basic computer skills. Bookings necessary, $6.30 / concessions free

Irish convict records

Irish convict letters of petition are an important resource for researching family history. Colleen Arulappu is an experienced researcher in this field. She will talk about the stories revealed from these letters and how they can be used. Free session.
